Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard

Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard was launched in 2004 to improve human health by using genomics to advance their understanding of the biology and treatment of human disease, and to help lay the groundwork for a new generation of therapies. The institute was founded to seize the opportunity that arose from the Human Genome Project -- the international effort that successfully deciphered the entire human genetic code. Broad Institute spans some of Boston’s leading institutions (Harvard, MIT, and Harvard-affiliated hospitals) and scientific disciplines (biology, chemistry, medicine, computer science, and engineering). The Broad community s committed to advancing research in areas including infectious disease, cancer, psychiatric research, and cardiovascular disease.

Clinical and Translational Science Award One Health Alliance (COHA)

One Health is the integrative effort of multiple disciplines working together locally, nationally, and globally to attain optimal health for people, animals, and the shared environment. The Clinical and Translational Science Award One Health Alliance (COHA) is comprised of veterinary schools partnered with medical and other colleagues. COHA’s mission is to advance their understanding of diseases shared by humans and animals. The alliance leverages the expertise of physicians, research scientists, veterinarians, and other professionals to find solutions for medical problems and to address the well-being of humans, animals, and the environment.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research. The mission of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is to provide expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. As an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and a Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, the Institute also provides training for new generations of physicians and scientists, designs programs that promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations, and disseminates innovative patient therapies and scientific discoveries to their target community across the United States and throughout the world.
