“Tufts is recruiting rabbits for a study evaluating immune responses in rabbits with and without Encephalitozoon cuniculi (aka, E. cuniculi). We are specifically interested in rabbits who have suspected disease based on serology/clinical signs who have not received treatment. If you are willing to travel to Tufts Veterinary School and have a rabbit that has been serologically tested for E. cuniculi (with positive or negative results) and you are interested in finding out more information about the study, please contact email@example.com for details.”
Rabbits that have been tested for E. cuniculi with either positive or negative results
Participation is limited to those clients that can travel to Grafton, MA for all required visits.
Rabbits that have not been tested for e. cuniculi
The study does not cover any costs. Your pet’s participation will allow us to gain information about E. cuniculi, an important disease in rabbits and may help other rabbits with this condition. You understand that your animal’s participation in this study will not alleviate or cure his/her ailment.
Sample or Data Requirements
If you decide to participate in this study, your rabbit will have 3 mL (less than one teaspoon) of blood drawn. Once the blood is drawn, your rabbit’s participation in the study will have ended.
